Does Lumenet send my data anywhere?
No. Everything Lumenet records — connections, usage, rules, history — lives in a local database on your PC. There's no telemetry and no analytics, and free monitoring needs no account. The app works fully offline. (A Forcental account is used only to activate Pro.)
Will it slow down my PC or my connection?
Lumenet is built on Windows Filtering Platform, the packet-decision layer inside Windows itself, so enforcement happens in the kernel path Windows already uses. The service idles at a fraction of a percent of CPU and the app only works hard when you are looking at it.
Can I run it alongside my antivirus?
Yes. Lumenet is a firewall and network monitor, not an antivirus, and is designed to coexist. If another product also installs firewall filters, Lumenet detects the overlap and tells you which product is winning arbitration instead of failing silently.
What happens the first time an app connects?
In Normal mode you get a prompt naming the app, its verified publisher, and the destination. Allow it always, once, for a set time, or block it — your answer is saved as a rule you can edit later. In Learning mode nothing is blocked; connections are recorded for a baseline you review when ready.
Do updated apps re-prompt after every update?
No. Apps that reinstall into new versioned folders (common with modern app updaters) are recognised by file name plus verified signer, so an existing rule follows the app across updates instead of duplicating.
What does Free include vs Pro?
Free includes all monitoring forever: dashboard, activity, map, usage, alerts, devices, and the time machine. Pro adds enforcement: prompts, rules, profiles, Learning review, Lockdown and Silent modes. Pro is £2.79 a month per device (£33.48 a year) or £89.99 once for Lifetime.
Is there volume pricing?
Yes. The yearly per-device price steps down as you add devices, from £22.68 to £17.88 per device per year depending on quantity.
How do I uninstall it?
Standard Windows uninstall from Settings. It removes the service, its filters, and optionally the local history database. No leftovers.
Does it handle inbound connections too?
Lumenet focuses on outbound control — the direction most products ignore — and supports inbound block rules for specific apps. Windows Firewall continues to handle general inbound policy alongside it.
Which Windows versions are supported?
Windows 10 and Windows 11, 64-bit. The installer is 18.6 MB and needs administrator rights once to register the service.
